He was born Aug. 3, 1919 in Mineral City, Ohio, to Charles Newton and Ethel May (Nelson) Hite. Mr. Hite served 20 years in the Navy, during World War II and Korean War. He retired in 1963. Mr. Hite worked for Reynolds as an electrician. Survivors include his son, Paul Hite Jr; stepson, Bob Huffman; daughters, Paula Gunnels, Patsy Hite, Pamela Hite, Peggy Parr and Pearl Madson; stepdaughter, Nancy Rarey; 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Columbia Funeral Service in Longview. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Green Hills Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Longview Church of the Nazarene.
