She was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Kelso to Roy and March (Taylor) Modrow and was a lifelong local resident. On March 5, 1948, she married Fred Hooper and became a homemaker. Mrs. Hooper is survived by her husband; seven daughters, Sherry Stein, Karen Kennedy, Jackie Browne, Kathy Neuman, Susie Narios, Diane Chinchen and Janet Simmons; a brother, Ron Modrow; a half-brother, Roy Modrow; two half-sisters, Susie Russell and Judy Sager; her stepmother, Dolly Modrow; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bunker Hill Cemetery. The viewing will be held from noon to 6 p.m. today at Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home.
