He was born December 14, 1921 in Big Valley, Canada to Fred and Lillias (Hubbard) Johnson. They moved to Longview in 1923 and Lyle was a lifelong resident of the Longview area. Lyle served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was captured in Germany with his platoon and was a prisoner of war at STALAG9B and BADORB. He returned from the war in 1945. Lyle worked as a piledriver and was the president of the Piledrivers Local 1036 for 12 years, business agent for 6 years and the Pacific Coast Council for several years. Lyle married the love of his life, Eunice (Lamon) on August 3, 1946. They enjoyed 60 wonderful years together. He and Eunice enjoyed traveling. Their favorite getaways were Hawaii and the Pacific Coast beaches. What brought him the most joy in life was spending time with his family. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lillias Johnson; brothers, Willard Johnson, Jack Johnson, and George Johnson; and sister, Bernice Fleshman. Lyle leaves behind his wife, Eunice Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Deborah Johnson of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Myra and Bill Manley of Longview; brother and sister-in-law, Fred "Babe" and Peg Johnson of Kelso; grandchildren, Patrick, Amie, Luke, Angie, Stacie, Diane, Connie, and Kerri; great grandchildren, Piper, Zoie, Taylor, Kyle, Tyler, Damon, Ethen and Raven; and great great-grandchildren, Mayce and Kaliegh. A Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006 at Northlake Baptist Church with Dr. James Conrod officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O.
