Frank John Kafel, 80, of Longview died March 16, 2006.


He was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Philadelphia to Aloysius S. and Susie (Mueller) 
Kafel.  He had lived in Longview since 1963, coming from the East Coast.

Mr. Kafel served in the Navy during World War II and was a gunner.  He taught 
math at Cascade Middle School, retiring in 1986 after more than 30 years of 
teaching.

His wife, Jean Kafel, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Kevin Kafel; three stepsons, Dan Grimm, David Grimm 
and Dennis Grimm; a daughter, Robin Kafel; a stepdaughter, Cher'e Grimm, a 
brother, Al Kafel; a sister, Theresa Hamilton; 13 grandchildren; and seven 
great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Steele Chapel at Longview 
Momorial Park.

Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.
