Carl Ernest Klopp, Jr., 62 of Bentonville, Arkansas, passed away December 2, 
2005 at home. 

He was born May 19, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to Carl E. and Elsie (Johnson) 
Klopp and moved to Kelso from Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1974. Carl moved to 
Bentonville in 2003. He had an addiction to alcohol for many years. He won the 
battle on October 10, 1987, attending the Salvation Army Treatment Center in 
Portland, Oregon. Carl and Carolyn were married August 17, 1991, a second 
marriage for them both. Carl joined St. Rose Catholic Church at Easter in 1999. 
He had been employed at Schneider's Hardware, Reynolds Metals and Lower 
Columbia College in the maintenance department. He was preceded in death by his 
parents; a sister, Shirley Ann Klopp; and a brother, Martin Dean Klopp. 

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Hanawalt Klopp at home; son, Timothy James 
Klopp of Kelso; daughter, Sheila Kay Klopp of Kelso; step-sons, Scott Hanawalt 
of Portland, Oregon and Dean Hanawalt of St. John Indiana; brothers, Robert 
Elwing of Sparks, Nevada, John Klopp of Richland Center, Wisconsin and Joel 
Klopp of Kelso; sister, Frances Jones of Milwaukie, Oregon; eight 
grandchildren; and one Godchild. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 
St. Rose Catholic Church, preceded by a Holy Rosary at 12:30 p.m. Interment 
will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Columbia Funeral Service is in charge
