He was born to Andrew and Evelyn (Stokes) Lewis on December 19, 1931 in Winthrop, Washington. Mr. Lewis moved to Longview in September of 1957. He graduated from Twisp High School in 1950. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Lewis worked as a Boiler Operator for Weyerhaeuser from 1957-1993, retiring after 36 years. He was a member of Prospectors Association of America. On August 10, 1957, he married Glenna Ostman in Superior, Montana. She survives him at home. Other survivors are three daughters and sons-in law, Kathy and Dale Williams of Kelso, Cindy and Dave Ross of Longview and Bonnie and Todd Conradi of Longview. Three brothers, Jim Hammer of Twisp, WA. Roger Hammer of Twisp, WA. and Ed Hammer of Brewster, WA. Two sisters, Martha Parker of Brewster, WA. and Rita McCalvey of Okanogan, WA. Eleven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2005, 2:00 P.M. at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 380 S.E. Spokane #10, and Portland, OR. 97202. Inurnment at Longview Memorial Park Dr. Jim Conrod, officiating.
