He was born May 23, 1917, in Rupert, Idaho, to William Knapp and Alice (Stevenson) Lewis. He moved to Longview in 1925 and graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1936. Mr. Lewis served in the Air Force, training fighter pilots during World War II. He was a PUD accountant and PUD Credit Union assistant treasurer. He married Edith E. Ashton on Sept. 27, 1939, in Boise. She survives him. Also surviving are a son, Wayne Lewis; a daughter, Colleen I. Hill; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory. The viewing will be held from noon to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O.
