He was born December 29th, 1922 in Milwaukie, Oregon to Timothy Wilbur Linn and Laura LuLu (Elliott) Benson. He lived in Rainier for over 43 years. Lloyd served with the 170th Military Police Company during World War II. He was stationed in Cairo, Egypt. He was a logger and with his brother Timmy, owned several small sawmills. He ended his career at Crown Zellerbach in Columbia City, in 1981. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved playing cards with his family. He taught his grandchildren and great grandchildren how to play cribbage pinochle, and poker. Lloyd attended all of his grandchildren's sporting events. In fact, he helped coach their Little League Baseball team at the age of 74. He enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his tomato plants, sharing them with his family and friends. Lloyd made yearly trips to Reno, Nevada to play the slot machines. He usually was always lucky and won! He is survived by his wife, Jannetje "Janny"; daughter and son-in-law, Cristina and Kurt McKee; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Rhonda Linn, all of Longview. His grandchildren; Kirsten Perez, Micah McKee, Angela Campbell, David Gomez, Chris Gomez, Jacob Linn, David Linn, and Jesse Gomez. His great grandchildren; Lexus McKee, Neiko McKee, Lauren Campbell, and Kailey McKee. Sister; Elise Kreiger of Portland, Oregon. Also, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, February 12th at 1:00 p.m. at the AWPPW Hall on 15th Avenue in Longview. Everyone is invited to attend. A time to share memories and stories about Lloyd will be provided during the service. Cremation has taken place.
