View, Stone County, Arkansas to William Brewer and Bernice Harron. Her step-mother was Alma Shanon. She came to Longview with her brother Bob Brewer in 1947. She married Charles Armstrong in 1949. They divorced and she married Lloyd Luff in 1958. He preceded her in death on Mar 7, 1989. She leaves longtime partner Bill Anderson; daughter Sharon and son-in-law Dale Slanger of Kelso; one special granddaughter Misty Bell of Kelso; two grandchildren Chandler and Isak Anderson; step children Cory & Colleen Anderson of Winlock, Washington and Boyd & Trish Anderson of Portland, Oregon. Dixie is also survived by brothers Gary Brewer of Lake City, Arkansas; Ricky Brewer of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Terry Brewer of Monette, Arkansas; Jerry Brewer of Texarkana, Arkansas; Kenny Brewer of Jonesboro, Arkansas and sisters Leona Jean Shrader of Kelso; Berta Brewer of Mt. Home, Arkansas and Gwin Bruton of California and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and second husband Lloyd Luff, her brother Bob Brewer and two sisters Shirley Spinks and Dee Imel. Dixie enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, clam digging and mushrooming with her longtime partner Bill Anderson. She also loved to play cards at the Kelso Longview Elks with friends and family. Dixie was the soul that held her family and friends together. A service will be held at the Kelso Longview Elks Lodge at 900 Ash in Kelso on Friday March 10 at 4:00 p.m. Donations of shoes and socks for kids may be made in Dixie's name at the Kelso Elks.
