Following the path God laid for him, Leonard Lesley Maine, 89, of Clatskanie, 
Oregon passed away November 11, 2005 at the American Nursing Home in Longview.
 
Leonard Lesley Maine I'm FreeBe not burdened with time of sorrow I wish you the 
sunshine of tomorrow My life's been full, I savored much Good friends, good 
times,a loved one's touch. 

 Leonard was born October 27, 1916 in Luverne, North Dakota to Alonzo and 
Minnie Maine. He moved from Valley City, North Dakota to Kelso in 1948, and 
then to Clatskanie, Oregon in 1958. Leonard retired from Weyerhaeuser Company 
as a fork lift operator in the lumber division. 

He was preceded in death by Elaine, his wife of 58 years in 2000 and his 
daughter, Jeanette Courser in 1998. 

is survived by brothers and sisters; Ruby Rietze, Violet Rietze and Melvin 
Maine of Valley City, North Dakota, Marcella Richards and Chet Maine of Kelso, 
WA and Esther Evenson of Albany, Oregon. Leonard will be missed by sons Gary 
and Russell Maine, and daughter Judy Grant, 10 grandchildren, 21 great 
grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, as well as many birds, deer and 
herd of cows. 

Private internment was held at Mayger Cemetery. Remembrances of Leonard can be 
made to Mayger-Downing Community Church, 80071 Life Lane, Clatskanie, OR 97016. 

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don't lengthen it with undue grief Lift up 
your heart and share with me God wanted me now, He set me free.
