Linda Marie Melville, 57, of Longview died March 19, 2006 at St. John Medical 
Center.

 She was born January 23, 1949 in Longview to Harry and Ruth (Forslin) O'Neill. 
She was a lifelong resident of the local area. She graduated from Kelso High 
School in 1967. She married Marv Melville in 1982. She was a bookkeeper for 
many years for several local businesses. She has been a realtor for 13 years, 
presently for John L. Scott Real Estate. Mrs. Melville loved summer, warm 
places, ocean fishing and clamming, making people smile, crocheting, sewing and 
quilting. She loved to entertain, plan family gatherings, and loved the 
holidays and her family time. She loved the grandchildren and her many pets. 
She enjoyed hot rods and car shows. She and Marv enjoyed traveling. She was a 
loving, affectionate, energetic, strong woman who was passionate about life. 
She is survived by her husband Marv Melville at home; sons, Brett Melville of 
Longview and Dane Backman of Kelso; daughters, Stacie Carroll of Kelso and 
Kamber Johnson of Longview; brother, Danny O'Neill of Kelso, sister, Sharon 
O'Neill of Longview; father, Harry and Daphne O'Neill of Castle Rock and 
mother, Ruth O'Neill of Longview; 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 2:00 
p.m. at Longview Community Church with Reverend John Williams, officiating. A 
reception will follow at Moose Lodge #530, 921 Washington Way, Longview, 
Washington. Viewing will be held Thursday, March 23, 2006 from 10 to 7 at 
Steele Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Cowlitz 
County, P.O. Box 172, Longview, WA 98632 or Community Home Health and Hospice, 
P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.. Cremation and inurnment will follow at a 
later date. Arrangements by Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park and 
Crematory.
