Stepp steppmom5@hotmail.com April 21, 2006, 3:00 pm Published in The Daily News on 1/13/2006. www.tdn.com Einar Leonard Moen of St. Helens, Oregon passed away January 7, 2006 at Park Royal Convalescent in Longview, Washington at the age of 79 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born September 11, 1926 in Kittson County, Township of Svea, Minnesota to parents Olaf and Thilda (Malm) Moen. He attended school in Badger, Minnesota. Einar and Mescal Golda Munger were married December 30, 1951 in Dufur, Oregon celebrating 54 years. Einar worked in construction and was a member of the Operating Engineers #153 out of Portland, Oregon. He worked in Scappoose Sand and Gravel as an operator of rock crusher and batch plant from 1979, retiring in 1993. He was a Boy Scout leader when his sons were young. He was a Life member of Sweet Home, Oregon Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and a member of the Rainier and Clatskanie AF & AM Lodges. He was also a Life member of Wabanang Chapter of the Eastern Star of Clatskanie, Oregon where he was a Past Worthy Patron eight times. Einar was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting deer, elk, and pheasants, and fishing. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandkids and great grandkids. He was preceded in death by both parents, his brother Peter Moen and a nephew Marshall Moen. He is survived by his wife Mescal Moen of St. Helens, Oregon; two sons Leonard Moen and his wife, Lillian of Longview, Washington and Ronald Moen and his wife Karen of Portland, Oregon; brother Oden Moen of Portland; two sisters Olga and Hanna Moen; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 12, 2006 from 8:00a.m. ? 10:30 a.m. at Haakinson-Groulx Mortuary Chapel, 225 S.E. Third Street, Clatskanie, Oregon. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Masonic Rites under the Auspicious of Clatskanie Masonic Lodge #133 AF&AM and Wabanang Chapter #127 O.E.S. of Clatskanie. Services will be concluded at the Chapel. Private family Interment. Memorials are suggested to: Wabanang Order of Eastern Star #127, c/o The Cancer Research, Attn: Carol Robinson, P.O.
