He was born August 17, 1935 to Lewis Earl and Addie Opal (Adams) Montgomery in Kirkland, Texas. Mr. Montgomery lived in Longview since 1987, coming from Cathlamet. He attended school in Skamokawa. Mr. Montgomery worked for Weyerhaeuser Logging Division in Grays River for many years as a Bull Buck. When they closed Grays River, he continued his gunsmith business which he had done for many years. He also worked in apartment maintenance for Sharp Construction and for Herb Hadley for several years until his recent illness. He enjoyed woodworking and gunsmithing. Survivors include 5 sons, Steve and (Dorothy) Montgomery, Dennis and (Stephanie) Montgomery of Vader, Bob and (Marietta) Montgomery of Skamokawa, Leland Montgomery and Mike Montgomery of Longview; 3 daughters, Claudene Montgomery and Janice Barker of Longview and Cheryl and (Dale) Barto of Kelso; 2 brothers, Lewis Montgomery of Vancouver and Claude Montgomery of Longview; 27 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Treva Peck. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, Decmeber 30, 2005 at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park.
