Robert "Bob" George Nelson, 67, of Kelso, Washington passed away December 3rd, 
2005 at the Hospice Care Center. 

He was born July 4th, 1938 in Centralia, Washington to parents Truman and 
Roberta Maxine (Walker) Parker. He grew up in the Pacific Northwest until his 
late teens when he moved to Long Beach, California where he joined the Navy. 
He lived in Washington, Oregon and California. Moved to this area in December, 
2003.Bob was most at home on the water. He served in the Navy from July 1955-
Nov. 1959, US Coast Guard Dec. 1959-Dec. 1963 and then spent the rest of his 
life working as a chief electrician in the Merchant Marine. His port was the 
Everett Marina when he lived aboard his boat the "Shady Lady" for twenty some 
years. He most enjoyed sailing, good food and spending time with family and 
friends. 

His is survived by his son, Robert G. Nelson Jr. of Mt. Lake Terrace, 
Washington, sister's, Linda Mason of Kelso, Washington, Beverly Braden of 
Centralia, Washington, a granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded 
in death by a sister, Sharon Rupp in 2002 and a brother, Frederick C. Taylor.A 
private Memorial service for family and friends will be held in the spring when 
his ashes are scattered at sea. Memorial contributions can be made to the 
Community Home Health Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632  STEELE CHAPEL
