Stepp steppmom5@hotmail.com June 3, 2006, 4:47 pm Published in The Daily News on 4/5/2006. www.tdn.com/obits Judith Roemer Newman, 56, or Rockaway Beach, Oregon, passed away on March 31, 2006 at OHSU in Portland, Oregon, of natural causes. She was born November 13, 1949 in Longview, WA. She graduated from RA Long High School in 1968. After high school she graduated from Northwest Portland College and attended LCC and Willamette University. Judy ran various group homes in Portland and Seattle. She met the love of her life, Bill Newman and they were married March 15, 1980. Her and her family lived in LaCenter, WA until after her twins graduated from high school and then she moved to Rockaway Beach with her husband. Her love for her twins was evident by her involvement in their activities. Judy was past President of LaCenter Little League and received the Senior Class Service Award from LaCenter High School. Judy loved watching her twins participate in music and sporting events. She also loved watching her nieces and nephews activities. Judy was an excellent cook; her dishes were the hit of all get-togethers. She enjoyed sitting around the bon fire telling stories, playing cards, games, putting puzzles together and going to the casino. Survivors are her children, twins, Jon of North Pole, Alaska, and Amanda of Longview, WA. She is also survived by her parents, George and AnnaLee Roemer of Longview; brothers, Bob and Cheri Roemer, Dano Roemer, George and Kathy Roemer, Todd Roemer and sister-in-law Lori Roemer, all of Longview. Her sister, Vanessa preceded her in death in 1995 and a brother, Kevin in 2005. Judy has 16 nieces and nephews, cousins Dina Worley and Daryl McCallum and her favorite auntie Da. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 921 Washington Way, Longview, WA.
