Stepp steppmom5@hotmail.com June 3, 2006, 9:15 pm Published in The Daily News on 5/3/2006. www.tdn.com/obits Gail Millet Norton, the beloved husband of Barbara Norton, and much loved father of his four children Rebecca, Benjamin, Sarah and Ruth, died on Friday, March 17 as result of a heart attack suffered immediately following a car accident in Edmonds, WA. Gail was born in Cashmere, Washington on August 24, 1922. He had one brother, Raymond, and his parents were Leora and Norman. Gail, better known to friends and family as Bud, was raised in Seattle, and graduated from West Seattle High school in 1939. He served in the military in Europe from 1942 until 1946. He attended and graduated from Washington State University. While attending WSU he met Barbara Dauterman; they were married in Longview, WA on August 24, 1947. Gail worked for the Longview Fibre Company for more than thirty years and retired in 1987. Barbara and Gail spent the first 15 years of their retirement at Lake Cushman, in a home built by Gail; they moved to Everett in 1999. Gail is survived by his wife Barbara, of Everett, and his four children, Rebecca Norton, of Seattle, Benjamin Norton of Falls Creek, Sarah Norton-Staal of Nairobi, Kenya, and Ruth Clark of Everett, as well as eight grandchildren including Tyler, Eleanor, Sophia, Alexander, Audrey, Benjamin, Isabelle and Dirk.
