He was born April 16, 1947 in Leon, Iowa to Ralph and Amelia Parker. Paul grew up in Iowa and graduated there in 1966. He moved with his family to Castle Rock in 1966. He was drafted into the army for 2 years and served one of those in Vietnam. He married Linda McDole in Iowa in 1968 and they returned to the Longview area. Paul worked at Weyerhaeuser Pulp in the powerhouse and later went into maintenance as a pipe fitter. He worked at Weyerhaeuser 38 years and retired in April 2004. Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Robert, his father Ralph and mother Amelia Parker. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Parker; a son, Troy and daughter- in-law Carrie, grandson Evan; a daughter, Tess Dahlquist and grandsons Jordan, Jared and Seth; four brothers, James, Ben, Tom and Dave Parker, all of Castle Rock; three sisters, Susan Parker of California, Mary Curtis of Castle Rock, and Rose Swofford of Castle Rock; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Paul attended Rainier Assembly of God. Paul loved to help others wherever he could, loved spending time with his family and his grandsons were the twinkle in his eye. Paul was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and had recently gone to Alaska Halibut fishing.
