She was born September 18, 1918 to Stephen and Georgia Weaklend in Denver, CO. She graduated from Kelso High School in 1936 and remained active in her graduating class activities throughout her life. During her working years, she was employed at Reynolds Metal Reduction Plant in Longview and as a Secretary in the Kelso School District at Washington Grade School and at Barnes School in Kelso from 1967 to 1978. She married Duane Parker in Vancouver, WA on June 27, 1938 and made their home in Kelso, WA. After her retirement, she spent time traveling in Europe and visiting family and friends. Madge and Duane were very active in the Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star. During these years, she held the Office of Grand Adah for the State of Washington traveling extensively and enjoying the new friendships they would have for the rest of their lives. Madge loved sewing, golf and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Duane in 1977, a sister Joann Johnson and Donna Lee Dell. She is survived by her daughter Darlene Mason and Ken Gressett of Rainier, OR. A son and daughter-in-law Doug and Ginger Parker of Longview, two grand children Dustin and his wife Julie of Vancouver, WA her grand daughter Vanessa Burgess and husband Josh of Portland, OR. She was also blessed with two great grandchildren Ethan and Aiden Parker of Vancouver, WA. Her remaining family, Pat Mitchell of Beverly Hills, CA, three nieces, two nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 13, 2006 at the Free Methodist Church, 2746 Ocean Beach Highway at 1:00 pm. There will be a gathering and refreshments following the memorial.
