He was the first son of John and Rachel Paul and one of thirteen children. He was in the Navy from 1951-1955, and was trained as a cook. He came to Longview in 1956 as the first chef of Bart's Restaurant. He was married to Catherine Blumer on June 24, 1961, at St. Mary's in Kelso. They opened the restaurant in December of 1964, which has been open for over 40 years. He loved cooking, working on the family farm, and wine making. Henry was a very compassionate, quiet, caring, giving, loving, kind, humble man who was a friend to all. He was a member of Rotary, Knights of Columbus, and Ducks Unlimited. He was preceded in death by his son Vincent Paul. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Paul, children and their spouses: Greg and Ashley Paul from Longview, Paul and Nina Pedersen from Calistoga, California, Michael Paul from Tualatin, Oregon, and Jim and Rachel Harris from Kirkland, Washington, and eleven brothers and sisters. There will be a viewing on Thursday at Dalh-McVicker Funeral Home from 10:00 am- 5:00 pm, followed by viewing from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm at St. Rose with a vigil at 7:00 pm. The service will be at St. Rose Catholic Church at 11:00 am on Friday.
