He was born January 10, 1919 in Oak Point, Washington to Ole Dahl and Ingaborg (Grasseth) Pedersen. Mr. Pedersen lived in Puget Island from 1925 to 1937. He graduated from Cathlamet High School in 1937. He served in the U.S. Army as a Warrant Officer. He came back to Longview after the war. He married Lucille in 1945. She preceded him in death in 1959. He married Mary Ellen Wakefield Lippert in 1962. Ernie and his wife owned a butcher shop, Pedersen's Lockers for 30 years and also owned a Charter Boat business, Pedersen's Charters. He was a member of the Sons of Norway and a volunteer (Charter Member) of Baker's Corner Fire Department. He was a people person. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Sverre, Radar, Peter, Otto and Herman Pedersen and two sisters, Julia Berg and Mildred Keister. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen at home; three sons, Ron Pedersen of Longview, Mike Pedersen and his wife, Carla of Longview, and Dave Pedersen of Kingston, Washington; two daughters, Sharon Ruston of Hoquiam, Washington and Peggy Engman of St. Paul, Minnesota, 16 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2005 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pastor Kurt Gieschen officiating. Private Inurnment at Oak Point Cemetery.
