Ruth A. Petty passed away peacefully in her sleep at 90 yrs of age at Flagstone 
Retirement, The Dalles, Oregon on Dec. 26, 2005.

She was born in Yakima, Washington to Herbert H & Anna C. Gatchell on Sept 16, 
1915. In 1932 she married Herman C. Petty in Yakima and moved to Oakville, WA 
in 1935. They had 4 boys & 1 girl. They lived from there to Concrete, WA to 
Cougar & Yale, to Woodland, WA. Following his livelihood as a logger. They 
lived for 2 yrs in Eureka & Garberville, California area. Ruth was a homemaker 
and an avid Bible student. 

She is survived by 3 sons Shanon H & Wanda Petty of LaCenter, WA; Sherman J & 
Glenda Petty of Adairsville, GA; Delmar H & Marie Petty of Lacy, WA; 1 
daughter, Tamara & Don Handy of Wishram, WA; 2 foster sons Roy Smith in 
Germany, Walter & Sarah Smith of Cape Canaveral, FL. sister Pauline M. Murphy 
of Fullerton, CA. brother & sister-in-law, Clifford C & Charlotte Gatchell of 
Port Orchard, WA. 11 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 6 Nephews & Nieces, 
and 10 Great nephews and nieces. Preceding her in death was her husband, Herman 
C. Petty; son, Terrence T. Petty; brother, Emory J. Gatchell; grandson, Travis 
R. Handy.

A memorial service will be held on January 21st at 2 p.m. for Ruth A. Petty by 
Gary Shelton. It will be at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2500 W. 
8th St., The Dalles, OR.
