Don was a truly remarkable man whose life touched and inspired his family, friends and co-workers for 56 years. His authenticity, compassion and grace blessed so many of us for so long-his spirit truly buoys us every day. Don Phillips was employed by Glacier NW from the Vancouver, WA plant for 30 years and his final position with the company was Chief Dispatcher. A Memorial Service for Don will be held Saturday, February 25, 2006 from 2- 4:30 at New Hope Community Church. 11731 SE Stevens Rd, Portland, OR, I-205- Sunnyside Clackamas Area. The significance of Donnie's life came primarily from his relationships with the people whose lives he influenced. He had a very strong sense of himself that was balanced with a genuine and disarming humbleness. All of these qualities brought him closer to family, friends & colleagues. More than anyone else I know, Don walked his talk of listening, caring and bringing out the best in others. He built friendships and collaborative relationships that have stood for decades through all of life's twists and turns, adversity and success. Don leaves us so much the better for having known him and having shared our lives with him. He brought out the best in us, just as he shared his remarkable wisdom, love and light with us. Don is preceded in death by a twin brother, John Phillips and his father, Harrison Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Teri, of 16 years and Phillips family members: mother, Odell Muir and brother, Jack Phillips; his children, Dahn & Dan Devlaeminck, Donald & Lesslie Phillips, Laura & Bruce Garrette, 3 stepchildren, Karen Siebert, Todd Robanske, Troy & Ellisa Robanske; 15 Grandchildren; nephew, Shawn Phillips and niece, Janae Phillips. Don had lots of other family: The Olsons, mother-in-law, Dolores; Sister & Brother in-laws: Mason & Debra Olson, Danna Leisman & Roger Leisman, Laura Schultz, Mark Schultz and many nieces & nephews. Donnie will really be missed in our family. He was the Best & I love you Donnie so much~Teri.
