She was born Nov. 15, 1923, in Oregon City, OR. to Virgil M. and Hilda (Turner) Cook. She graduated from Oregon City High School in 1941. Mrs. Poorman was a dishwasher for a Longview restaurant for two years and worked 12 gold claims out of Baker, Oregon. On June 8, 1943, she married Albert L. Poorman in Vancouver, Washington. He preceded her in death on Sept. 11. 1987. She is survived by two sons, Steven Poorman and Michael Poorman; a daughter, Judith Engel; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life held at Haakinson-Grouix Mortuary in Rainier, Oregon on Jan 14, 2006. Private Inturnment.
