Dick Price, longtime Longview resident, died January 6, 2006, at age 75. 

He was born August 10, 1930 in Olympia, to Willie and Freda Price. He was an 
U.S. Army veteran and a 30-year postal employee. 

Dick was one of the most accomplished amateur golfers of his generation. He won 
numerous state and regional amateur championships, as well as open 
championships, while representing the Longview Country Club. Dick also 
participated in several United States, Canadian, and British National Amateur 
Championships, the U.S. Open and was named many times to the Hudson Cup and 
Morse Cup teams as a representative of the State of Washington. He was a 
multiple winner of the annual Lower Columbia, Cowlitz County and Southwest 
Washington amateur golf tournaments. 

Dick was an avid supporter of the University of Washington. He was a longtime 
contributor to the University's Tyee Club, and a member of the President's 
Club. 

Dick is survived by his wife Nancy; sons Richard Randolph (Rande) Price and 
Ronald Bradley (Brad) Price of Longview; daughter Shauna Kelly of Seaview and 
stepchildren, David and Stephanie Byfield of Vancouver; sisters Sally Vog of 
Springfield, Oregon, Sharon Reeves and Sylvia Bergman of Longview; seven 
grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A memorial Service will be held at The Cedars Golf Club, 15001 NE 181st, Brush 
Prairie, Washington, at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2006. Memorial

1363, Longview, Washington 98632.
