Grace Reade died on March 3, 2006 after a long and hard-fought battle against 
pancreatic cancer.

 She was born on October 25, 1946 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England to Clem 
England and Hilda Fay England (ne้ Clinning). She lived for some 20 years in 
Liverpool, England and considered herself an honorary scouser. She moved to 
Houston, Texas in 1985 and had resided in Longview since 1997. 

She is survived by her husband Bill Reade, children Susanne Thompson of 
Longview, Stuart Thompson and Helen Thompson of Liverpool, England, her sister 
Barbara Law of Huntly, Scotland, three grandsons Adam, Christopher and Dylan 
Thompson and numerous nephews and nieces, and her two beloved dogs Beau and 
Heidi. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eileen Eyre, her 
brother Christopher England and her first husband David Thompson. 

Grace wrote a food column entitled "Grace at the Table" for The Daily News 
since 2000. Her fight against cancer was well-chronicled in the newspaper. A 
funeral service will be held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Longview on 
Tuesday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to 
Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.
