Mary Jean Reichert, a longtime resident of Longview, Washington, passed away December 1, 2005, at the age of 78. Mary was born October 1, 1927, in Sargent, Nebraska to Charles and Lulu (Strong) Wolcott. She grew up in Grandview, Washington and later lived in Chehalis. She was a 1946 graduate of Grandview High School. She married Roy Reichert on December 19, 1947. She had lived in the Kelso-Longview, WA area since 1954. Mary and her husband Roy Reichert owned and operated Reichert's Meats in Longview for many years. Mary was a life-long homemaker and an accomplished wood-carver. She also enjoyed bowling, painting, antiquing and tole painting. She loved gardening, flowers, plants and various card games including cribbage and pinochle. She was a devoted mother and grandmother with her 4 children and 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was a 4-H Leader, worked with the American Field Service, and was involved in Rainbow. She was an active member of the Lower Columbia Collectibles Club for 20 years and also a member of the Longview Eagles. She is survived by her husband, Roy, son, John Reichert, daughter-in-law, Terri, of Longview, WA., daughters, and son-in-law, Vickie and John Rowlett of Madera, CA., Karen and Rob Lyle of Keene, N.H., daughter, Jahn Reichert Mode of Kelso, WA., a sister, Beverly J. Alberts of Kirkland, WA., her grandchildren, Nikko Flaig, Ann Cumming, Jill Crotwell, Emily Blosser, Ben Rowlett, Rebecca Cook, Meghan Cook, Cory Cook, Seth Cook, Emily Piercy, Katie Reichert, her great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, a close family friend, Connie Parsons. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Milo Wolcott and Oliver Wolcott, and a grandson, Samuel Rowlett. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 6th, 2005, at 11:00am at Steele Chapel. Viewing will be from 1-6pm on Monday at the funeral home. Vault Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Community Home Health Hospice, P.O.
