Zelda Marie Rickens, 95, of Bellingham died March 20, 2006.

She was born Oct. 24, 1910, in Davenport, Iowa, to Mathew and Mary Cora 
Melvin.  The family moved to Kelso in 1925.  She graduated from Kelso High 
School and Longview Business College.

Mrs. Rickens was a shareholder at Mt. Baker Plywood, where she met her husband, 
Floyd "Rick" Rickens.  They married in 1954.  She left the mill to work in the 
office at Bellingham High School until 1975.She returned to work at Mt. Baker 
Plywood and retired in 1984.

Survivors include a daughter, Calista Rickens; two sons, Michael Rickens and 
Kenneth Rickens; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; and numerous nieces and 
nephews.

Her husband preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Westford Funeral Home in 
Bellingham.  A reception will follow at Westford's Broadway Hall.  Visitation 
will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Interment will 
take place at Greenacres Cemetery.
