She was born December 10, 1928 in Riffe, Colorado to Charles Ralph and Irva Louise (Murdoch) Evans. She graduated from Woodland High School in 1946 and was a homemaker. Dorothy married Leslie J. Riff on October 30, 1953. He precedes her in death. She resided in Castle Rock until her passing. Dorothy loved to travel to the Lucky Eagle Casino with her longtime and dearest friend, Shirley Mezger who also precedes her in death. She enjoyed spending time at Hoods Canal with her family digging clams and shucking oysters. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority and she will miss her dearest friends Janie Cochran and Suzie Streiff and all of her sorority sisters. Survivors include a son, Jordan T. Riffe of Castle Rock, WA; a daughter, Dawn L. Engleman of Longview, WA; 3 sisters, Irva Louise Kradit and husband Robert of Springfield, OR; Audrey Wright of Priest River, ID; Patsy Komen and husband Joe of Bullhead City, AZ; 2 brothers, Kenneth Evans of Seattle, WA and Irv Evans and wife Maurine of Amboy, WA; 2 grandchildren, Jaxson Riffe and Todd J. Riffe, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Joann (Jodi) Olson of Petersburg, AK, a sister-in-law, Emma Evans and brother-in-law, Mel Olsen. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 29, at 3:00p.m. at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church with Janie Cochran officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Castle Rock, WA. Arrangements are under the direction of Hubbard Funeral Home.
