Leona Augusta Roberts of Rainier, Oregon passed away December 20, 2005 at 
Community Home Health & Hospice in Longview, Washington at the age of 84. 

Leona was born July 18, 1921 in Lewiston, Idaho to parents Bernhardt M. and 
Teresa K. (Flerchinger) Wolf. She graduated from Mt. Angel Academy in 1939. On 
May 10, 1941 she married Martin Joseph Bachmeier. They spent the early years of 
their marriage separated by WWII. After his tour they settled on a Clackamas, 
Oregon chicken ranch in 1949. They moved to Rainier in 1961 to raise dairy cows 
and six children. He preceded her in death in January 1972.

On December 11, 1976 she married Bland (Bud) Gibford. They owned and operated a 
boat launch in Garibaldi, Oregon before returning to the ranch to raise cattle. 
He preceded her in death November 1989. 

On April 30, 1991 she married Lester V. Roberts. They both raised cattle while 
still finding time to travel, salmon fish, clam dig, and elk hunt. He preceded 
her in death in May 2005. Leona never retired from raising cattle and through 
the years enjoyed gardening, oil painting, drawing, canning, raising animals, 
and caring for your family. In 2003 she finished writing her memoirs. 

She is survived by two sons: John Vincens of Anchorage, Alaska and Richard 
Bachmeier of Rainier, Oregon; three daughters: Sylvia and her husband, Art 
Smith and Shiela and her husband Bernie Freiburger, all of Longview, Washington 
and Rita Vincens of Portland, Oregon; two sisters: Hilda Heidt and Alma 
Boschler, both of Mt. Angel, Oregon; two brothers: Paul Wolf of Pomeroy, 
Washington and Dennis Wolf of Milwaukie, Oregon; stepchildren: Lester, Herb, 
Kathy, John, Debbie, Rick and Sandra; ten grandchildren: Kathy Kallunki of Key 
West, Florida, Tracy Kallunki and Trisha Risner, both of Seattle, Washington, 
Brian Freiburger of Los Angeles, California, Kim Smith of Tigard, Oregon, Sarah 
Jones of Longview, Washington, Greg Smith of Portland, Oregon, Kevin Smith of 
Tokyo, Japan, Arthur and Rosie Vincens of Anchorage, Alaska, seven great 
grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, twelve step grandchildren, 
fifteen great stepgrandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by a sister Bertha Bachmeier in 1987, a brother Ralph 
Wolf in 1988, a daughter Elaine Edenfield in 2003 and a granddaughter Sandy 
Kallunki in 1987. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2005 from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at 
Haqkinson-Groulx Mortuary Chapel, 215 "C" Street East, Rainier, Oregon. 

Services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at The Nativity of the 
Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, East 2nd & "D" Street, Rainier, Oregon, 
with Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass to follow at 11:00a.m. with Father Robert 
Beltrami celebrant. 

Interment will follow at Green Mountain North Cemetery, Rainier, Oregon. 
Haakinson-Groulx Mortuary of Rainier in charge of arrangements.
