Patti was born to Lauren Laurel (Pat) and Arletha M. (Melton) Ramsdell on May 1, 1945 in Vancouver, WA. Both parent preceded her in death (Lauren in 1981 and Arletha in 1988), in addition to her brother, James Ray Ramsdell, who passed away in 1991. She was a graduate of Kelso Senior High School, class of 1963. She resided in Cowlitz County, where in 1980 she met her husband, Kenneth A. Smith and was married in 1989. Patti and Kenneth resided in Castle Rock, WA where she became a member of the Castle Rock Eagles. She also worked at the Eagles for 12 years- the last 7 years as Manager of the Social Room. Patti loved reading books, playing bingo, days at the beach, spending time in Cougar, WA and the families' alternating annual trips to Las Vegas or Reno, NV. Patti also enjoyed volunteering for various Eagle projects; as her time would allow. Patti is survived by her husband, Kenneth Smith of Castle Rock, three sons; Kevin Haines of Castle Rock, Time Haines of Castle Rock and Donald Smith of Lincoln, NE. Other survivors include: seven sisters; Elaine Brown of Castle Rock, Maxine Ramsdell of Ontario, Canada, Alta Lambert of Federal Way, WA, Annetta Mattson of Longview, WA, Elinor Ramsdell, address unknown, Jean Ramsdell of Toppenish, WA, Kathryn Ramsdell, address unknown, and five brothers; Gerald Ramsdell of Brookings, OR; Wayne Ramsdell of Cleveland, OH, Lorene (Junior) Ramsdell of Castle Rock, WA, Leonard Ramsdell of Longview, WA, Floyd Ramsdell of Longview, WA. Patti also had three wonderful grandchildren that she was very fond of in Klawock, Alaska. Patti was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Patti was cremated, a memorial service will be held on March 18th at 1 pm at the Castle rock Eagles #556 Lodge. For those who want to attend the memorial service, a notice will be published in The Longview Daily News at a later date.
