He was a long-time member of Kelso First Assembly of God and then Columbia Heights Assembly of God. He will be remembered for his devotion to God, his love and sacrifices for his family, as well as for others. Family memories include: a home filled with joy and music; family vacations "collecting states"; playing with his kids; family card and board games; and stories of his adventures growing up in Minnesota. Self-taught in music, he played several musical instruments and he loved to sing. He had a quick smile and a pleasant sense of humor. Byron (Stoney) was employed by Weyerhaeuser Pulp and Paper in Longview as a journeyman millwright for nearly 40 years. More than anything else in life, he relished his true profession as Dad and Grandpa, leaving a legacy of love. He is survived by: daughter Lynnette Hunter; daughter Janelle Williams and husband Mark Williams; son Michael Stone and wife Ann Marie; son Stephen Stone and wife Debbie; son Nate Stone and wife Teri; daughter Joy McNealy and husband Mark McNealy. He had fifteen grandchildren: Craig Hunter, Alicia Hunter, Luke Williams, Angiel Toy and husband Aaron, Katie Stone and husband Travis, Andy Stone, Jeremiah Stone, Joshua Stone, Sarah McNealy, Josiah McNealy, Peter McNealy, Elisabeth McNealy, Marcus McNealy, Crystal Stone, Doug Stone, and two great-grandchildren, Brianna Hunter and Annelise Toy. A brother, Cordell Stone, also survives him. Byron's wife, Bobbie Lou Stone, preceded him in death on February 26, 1976. They are now reunited in Heaven. During their life together here they encouraged their children to enjoy life, to be active in music, sports, and church, and, most of all, to love the Lord.
