He was born Jan. 19, 1920, in Roseville, Calif., to Desmond and Marguerite E. Stout. He graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1938. Mr. Stout served in the Naval Air Force during World War II. He moved to Clatskanie in 1967 from Conoga Park, Calif., to work at Crown Zellerback paper mill. He was a clock room attendant and then pay master at the James River Mill for 21 years. He retired in 1988. He married Gladys Joanne Turner in Las Vegas in 1952. She preceded him in death in 1992. Mr. Stout is survived by two sons, Cory Stout and Kevin Stout; a daughter, Karen King; and 10 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Presbyterian Church in Clatskanie. Arrangements are by Haakinson-Groulx Mortuary, Clatskanie.
