Kenneth W. Swanson, 78, of Kelso, WA. died Jan. 14, 2006 at St. John Medical 
Center in Longview, WA. after a fight with lung cancer. 

He and his twin brother Donald L. Swanson were born to Paul A. and Milda 
Swanson on Dec. 3, 1927 in Harvey, Illinois. Ken graduated from Napa High 
School in California and enlisted in the army in 1945. He was stationed in 
Japan and worked in the food trade. After the Army, Ken worked at the Napa Post 
Office. Ken then lived in Palm Springs and San Francisco, taking his cooking 
skills with him wherever he went. Later in life, he moved to Kelso to be with 
his brother and family. He enjoyed his activities at the Kelso Senior Center 
and served as a Treasurer. 

Ken is survived by his older brother Vance Swanson and wife Pat of Auburn, CA, 
his sister-in-law Marlene Swanson of Longview, and a large number of nieces and 
nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Don . 

A memorial service will be held at Columbia Funeral Services on Saturday, 
January 21 at 2:00 pm. Friends who wish may make a contribution to the Kelso 
Senior Center.
