Viola June Taylor, 87, of Longview, Washington, passed away December 26, 2005 under the wonderful care of the Community Home Health & Hospice Caregivers. She was born June 13, 1918 in Port Angeles, Washington, daughter of Allie M. Kreager and Samuel E. Cox. She was a member of the Baptist Church for over 65 years, was a mission house parent at the Kodiak Alaska Baptist Mission from 1953 to 1956. She retired as a house parent from the Washington State School for the Blind in Vancouver. An avid baseball fan, she had played league ball in Port Angeles, and had commented that only the Lord could bat 400, however? She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George Edward Taylor, daughter, Jacklyn E. Connelly, brothers, John Henry, Floyd, and Tony Cox; sisters, Mamie, Lorene and Genevieve. She leaves behind one sister, Earlen and brother Eugene; two stepsons, Jerry and Donna Connelly of Estacada, Oregon, Larry and Connie Connelly of Cusick, Washington; three grandsons and their wives, Marcus and Lorie Connelly of Arcadia, Wisconsin, Patrick and Bea Connelly of Vancouver and Christopher & Grace Connelly of Fayetteville, North Carolina; five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. At Viola's request, there will be no funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northlake Baptist Church, Longview, Washington, where she was a member for 23 years.
