John N. Vaughn, 92, of Longview, Washington, passed away at St. John Medical 
Center on February 10, 2006. 

John was born May 4, 1913 to William and Ada (Gross) Vaughn in Gross, Nebraska. 
The family moved to Gann Valley, South Dakota when John was a young boy. He 
graduated from Gann Valley High School in 1932, where he was salutatorian of 
his class. John moved with his family to Washington soon after he graduated. He 
was a farmer, helped build Grand Coulee Dam, worked in the coal mines in 
Bellingham, and at Reynolds Metals Co. for 26 years, retiring in 1978. 

John married Evelyn Bo Whitt in 1942 and they were married 50 years before her 
death in 1993. 

John was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a grandson, two brothers, 
and two sisters. 

Survivors include son, Ron Vaughn, Ocean Park, Washington; two daughters, Hope 
Lane and Becky Robins, of Castle Rock, Washington; two brothers, one sister, 
seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. 

A private service and burial has already taken place under the direction of 
Columbia Funeral Service.
