He was born Aug. 9, 1924, in Formoso, Kan., to Chattie Von and Minnie (Switzer) Warren. He graduated from high school in Lovewell, Kan., in 1942. Mr. Warren served in the Army Air Force during World War II and moved to Longview 53 years ago. He owned Warren's Exxon and Warren & Smith's Used Trucks in Longview for many years. He retired as a maintenance man for the Monticello Hotel in 2003. In 1945, he married Charline Leece in Amarillo, Texas. She survives him. Also surviving are a daughter, Nancy Russell; a son, Tom Warren; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory. The viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
