He was born October 17,1919 in Independence, MO to Willard and Harrie Williams, and graduated from North East High School in Kansas City, MO in 1937. He moved to Kelso in the same year. He married Peggy Jean Smith in March of 1942. Mr. Williams served in the army from 1942-1945 during WWII. He was employed by Weyerhauser for 35 years where he was a Millwright for 24 years. He enjoyed his family, his country home, gardening and fishing. Mr. Williams was an avid hunter and holds records in Boone & Crocket and Washington State record books for Elk and Deer. He was a life member of Cowlitz Game & Anglers, NRA, the American Legion, and a charter member of the WWII Memorial. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Williams, a brother; Gerald Williams, three daughters; Carolyn Williams, Susan Ellis and Robin Smith all of Longview, WA. Mr. Williams had three granddaughters, four grandsons and five great grandchildren. At Mr. Williams' request, there will be no service.
