She was born on March 20, 1926 in Steele, Missouri to James Franklin and Pauline (Griggs) Sullivan. She grew up in a large family of 8 brothers and sisters. She was one of the five beautiful Sullivan sisters. Charlene was a gifted athlete in school, playing basketball and running track. She never lost a race. Charlene married Buell Wyatt on May 25, 1943. In 1949 they moved their family to Kelso where she delighted in making every one of their houses a beautiful home. Charlene and Buell were deeply devoted to their family and it was a sad loss when he passed away October 10, 2005. All her life Charlene enjoyed sewing, baking and decorating her homes. She baked delicious blackberry pies and cinnamon rolls. She made hundreds of pillows for school children, family and friends. She volunteered through her church and loved her dear friends in the Lydia Circle and her Bible study group. Her family gave her great joy. Her children are son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Brenda Wyatt of LaJolla, CA, son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Carolyn Wyatt of Kelso, WA, daughter and son- in-law, Judith and Michael Trinneer of Longview, WA, daughter and son-in-law, Polly and Mike Mayberry of Olympia, WA, and daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Mike Irby of Bremerton, WA. Her grandchildren are Matt, Connor, Megan, Stephanie, Christopher, Tiffany, Sarah, Dylan, Natalie, Jennifer, Amanda, and Danny. Her great-grandchildren are Ruby, Lily, Jasper and Sadie. She is survived by her sisters, Bobbie and Ruby and numerous nieces and nephews. Charlene was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Jean Wyatt. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Longview Community Church Sanctuary. Memorials may be made to Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.
