N. Mayfield, Rev. P. E. Pike officiating. It was the largest funeral ever held in Mansfield. The deceased had lived in Douglas county more than 30 years. She was loved by everyone who knew her as she was always ready to help anyone in sickness or bereavement regardless of their religious faith. The good she has done everyone who knew her as she was a loyal member of the Methodist church, having united with that faith when a girl, and was also a member of the Rebekah lodge, in which she was an ardent worked (sic). The pallbearers were: P. C. Thomsen, Tom Petersen, H. E. Smith, John Harper, Hugh Price and F. C. Wittig. Sorrowing friends and relatives came from Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Waterville, Coulee, Winthrop, Carlton and Bridgeport, to pay their last respects to the departed. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved. Jennie Kirkeby was born Sept 1 1871 in Denmark. In 1882 the family migrated to the United States, settling in Indiana.
