MARRIED IN SPOKANE

Attorney O. R. HOPEWELL was married in Spokane last Friday to Nellie May 
SUTHERLAND of Grand Isle, Nebraska.  The news came as a surprise to his many 
friends, although a few were aware of the fact that he had the house secured 
and ready for the bride.  This is two of the legal fraternity to fall by the 
wayside lately and there are but few victims left and one has committed to the 
legislature at Olympia on an indeterminate sentence.

Mr. and Mrs. HOPEWELL are expected home in a few days and will occupy one of 
the McCORMICK houses on West Walnut Street [Waterville WA]


A copy of the marriage certificate resides at the Washington State Digital 
Archives.  It lists Oscar as age 29 b. Nebraska the son of H. M. HOPEWELL b. 
Bloomington [Monroe Co.] IN and Eva J. THOMASON b. Leland IL.

Nellie was age 27 b. IL a teacher dau. of George Sutherland b. St. George, New 
Brunswick, Canada and Elizabeth PICKETT b. Hartford, CT
