His home had been at Oakville since 1933. Before that he had lived in Olympia. He was a logger by trade. Surviving are his wife, Rose; son, Melvin, and daughter, Mrs. Regina Murray, both of Olympia; brother, Joe Wilkenburg, Arizona; five sisters, Nellie Reedhead, Long Beach; Rena Jackson, Mattie Duval and Hazel Devine, all of Olympia, and Mildred Koetz, Ketchikan, Alaska; two stepsons, Mat LaFontaine, Olympia, and Robert Roseburg, Oregon, and 11 grandchildren.
