Mrs. Rita M. Targus, 48, died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon at her home at 
2112 Pacific Ave., Aberdeen.  She was born on August 17, 1922 at Erie, Penn. 
and came to the Harbor with her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Mannion.  She 
attended St. Mary's School and graduated in the Weatherwax Class of 1940.  She 
was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.  She is survived by her husband, 
Stan of Aberdeen; two sons, Stanley and Thomas, both of Aberdeen; two 
daughters, Joyce of Olympia and Nancy of Aberdeen; one daughter-in-law, 
Christina, also of Aberdeen; three sisters, Mrs. Doris Frizzell of Aberdeen, 
Mrs. Elaine Johnson and Mrs. Irene Mercer, both of San Jose, Calif.; two 
brothers, John Mannion Jr. of Hoquiam and Daniel Mannion of Seattle; and 
several aunts and uncles.  Requieum mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday 
at St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Fern Hill Cemetery.  
Rosary services will be at 7:30 o'clock tonight at the Whiteside Chapel.  
Pallbearers will be Barney Sarvinski, Walter Mierswa, Walter Kulich, Stan 
Sklodo, William Kalinoski and James Lesman, all trustees of the Polish Club.
