LANGLEY (Woodman) CEMETERY, Island County, WA Section C The US GenWeb Archives provide genealogical and historical data to the general public without fee or charge of any kind. It is intended that this material not be used in a commercial manner. All submissions become part of the permanent collection. Burial list of Langley Cemetery transcribed and submitted by Ralph Seefeld November 10, 1999. Both above notices must remain when copied or downloaded. seefeld@whidbey.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------- LANGLEY (Woodman) CEMETERY, Section C T29N R3E Section 3 Section B of this cemetery is found in a separate file. Be sure to check both. There are two sections only. Markers were read in September, 1998 and updated in June, 1999 by Ralph Seefeld, Ann Wright, Anne Hartley and Maureen MacDonald, members of the Genealogical Society of South Whidbey Island. To reach the Langley Cemetery from downtown Langley, go south on Anthes Street to 6th Street. Turn right on 6th Street and in about 1/2 block turn left on Anderson. The cemetery is located on the left about 3/4 mile up Anderson Road. This is the oldest cemetery on South Whidbey Island. It was begun in 1902 by the Woodmen's Lodge and operated by them until 1913 when it was deeded to the town of Langley which has operated it since. We are indebted to the Sno-Isle Genealogical Society and their publication "The Sounder" for publishing a list of individuals buried in this cemetery, copied from the Hedgecock-Visser Funeral Home records about 1987. Our thanks go also to Rick Hill and the City of Langley for providing us with their list of burials in the cemetery. Where a grave site is shown as "vacant" in the following list, it was indicated as such in these burial records. Where a grave is shown as "not found," the information on that burial also came from the burial records. The two lists were merged to give us a guide and starting point; we then verified names and dates, made corrections as necessary, and added more recent burials. PLEASE NOTE: This file shows burials in the order found on the ground, not in alphabetical order. To search for a specific name, use your browser's find function. Type in CTRL + F or select Find from your menu options, then enter the name you are searching for. Continue until you have seen each occurance of that name. Block, Section and Grave nos.
