Morning Oregonian September 11, 1904
Olympia,Wash.,Sept.10-(Special)- Frank Jacobs,a fireman on the steamer 
Multnomah,was drowned at an early hour thismorning from the vessel in this 
city.Jacobs was returning from up town,and in descending the gangplank to the 
steamer from the dock,lost his footing and fell between the boat and the wharf 
piles. It is presumed that he struck his head and was stunned,as the night 
watchman put his foot down for Jacobs to taek hold of but he was too dazed to 
grasp it.The body was recovered this morning.
