Wallace was born in Seattle on April 12, 1924 to Arthur and Beatrice Anklam.

During World War II he served in the Army Air Force.

In 1949 he married Margaret Zeissler.

He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (1992).

He is survived by daughter Susan Chambers (Randy).
