Richard was born January 30, 1928 in Moline, IL to Arnold "Arnie" Theodore and
Signe Elvera "Vera" (Carlmark) Axell.

He was married to Marilynn with whom he had three children, and then Nancy.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years Nancy; children Karen Axell (Paul
Neigel), Kris (Axel (Cheryl) and Karla Axell (Chuck Blumenfeld); and
stepchildren Cathy Fliris (Bill, dec.), Darci Swanson (Eric, dec.) and Kelly
Togesen (Hans).

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Kathryn Axell and stepson Jim
Covington.
