George was born in December 1929 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

He served in both the British and US Armies.

George was predeceased by his wife, (Eunice) and his son, George.

He is survived by his daughters, Lorna and Glenda.

He was instrumental in helping to implement the HEAR radio system, which was 
the pr-curser to the 911 system.
