Ellen was born September 19, 1925 to James and Alice Pease in Lodge Grass, 
Montana.

To support the war effort she moved to Seattle in 1943 and worked at Todd 
Ship Yards as a welder.

In June 1945 she married Hubert "Bud" Byers, and they were married 63 years 
at the time he died in 2008.

She was an enrolled member of the Crow Tribe of Montana.

Ellen is survived by her daughters Carol (Walter) Brown, Celia (John ) 
Kernkamp and Cynthia (Harry) Drinkwater.
