He married Ruth Ann Riley in 1945.
Joan was born February 22, 1928 in Seattle.

In 1951 she married James Franklin Carpenter.  James died in  1974.

She is survived by her brothers Richard L. Frayn Jr, Marshall Dutton (Alma) and
John Dutton (Yolanda); children Carrie Liz Carpenter, Stuart Carpenter, Richard
Carpenter (Michi), Jeannette Carpenter and Andrew Carpenter.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jeannette Baird Frayn Dutton, Richard
L. Frayn Sr; stepfather Harry John Dutton and her husband James Franklin Carpenter.
