Warren was born in San Francisco on December 29, 10922 to James Jick Chan and
Violette Yow.

In World War II he enlisted in the army and was a radio operator serving all
over the Pacific.

In 1950 he became the first Chinese American graduate of the UW law school.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Nobie; daughter Cindy Nomura (David), son
Taylor Terao (Sakie Naruke), daughter April Hale (Robert); son James Chan; son
Mark Terao (Candi); daughter Jill Rinearson (Peter); sisters Agnes Wazny,
Beatrice Eng, Vivian Chun, and brother Leslie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bertram, Quentin and Francis.
